Attempt at HDRPosted by JJ (Jersey City, United States) on 25 October 2008 in Architecture. I had a try and doing a HDR shot with 3 bracketed shots, not as good as so many others I have seen, but its a start Thank you for taking the time to visit. I really appreciate all your comments, and welcome any critique as I am learning the art of photography, and having a blast with it Getting ready for a work trip from the 29th so may not be able to check all your posts but will do as and when I can

Lydie et Roland from BESANCON, FranceFor a try, it's a good one JJ... Hold the line !!! 25 Oct 2008 6:07am João Mourão from Amadora, Portugalwow. That's your first attempt? It's so cool. Next time use 5 bracketed shots, and I think you will get more tones. Go for it, and please be aware that you might get hooked. Cheers. 25 Oct 2008 6:19am zOOm from Paris, FranceReally a nice light here, reflected on the glasses... lovely blur ! 25 Oct 2008 7:07am Elaine- from Vancouver, Canadajj, you done good, but i found it's easier to just change the exposure on ONE RAW file than to take 3 seperate ones, it works out better, less softness... but way to go man, well done! 25 Oct 2008 8:12am Calusarus from St Sorlin en Valloire, FranceNice one, and the framing is very interesting, too. 25 Oct 2008 9:37am Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaGreat start if you ask me, sweetie, well done, impressive compo! 25 Oct 2008 9:45am yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, Greecevery nice image - it has a strange feeling but I like it a lot 25 Oct 2008 10:09am bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaWonderful attempt! Actually I don't think it looks at all like HDR, it's much better, more dreamlike, soft and subtle. I absolutely love this! Whatever it is you did...you should do it again :) 25 Oct 2008 12:27pm Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomFor a start... it's terrific, very good processing. I've seen a few hdr images that are really over cooked, but this is nice. 25 Oct 2008 12:52pm Phototherapy from SwitzerlandGood work, very stunning. Not obvious to see trace of HDR, which is very good to my opinion. HDR should only help you to get good dark and light, not get spectacular shots. 25 Oct 2008 1:12pm Betty from New Jersey, United StatesExcellent for a first try, JJ. Doesn't have that "HDR" look! Well done. 25 Oct 2008 1:27pm Nicholas from Shah Alam, MalaysiaNot too bad for a start. :) You'll need a tripod though if you are using more than one shot. 25 Oct 2008 1:37pm Peter Knoop from Antwerp, BelgiumReally nice HDR, without pushing it too far. Would be even better if you had straightened the vertical lines. 25 Oct 2008 2:43pm don from spokane, United StatesI like your cityscape. Looks like a good first effort to me. I like the slightly softened look of the buildings. 25 Oct 2008 2:51pm Krisu from Tampere, FinlandIt is a great start! (envy you from your cityscapes ;) ) 25 Oct 2008 4:13pm Marie from Dauphiné, FranceI don't use HDR for my pics but I like it, when he is soft, like here. Bravo ! 25 Oct 2008 4:26pm willow from Chelsea, United StatesI'm pretty much a chicken when it comes to processing, but I like the way this came out. It softens the sharp edges of the buildings and makes them seem more inviting. Well done. 25 Oct 2008 4:59pm Michael Rawluk from Prince George, CanadaThe HDR added soe interesting colours. That is an excellent start. 25 Oct 2008 5:05pm Barbara from Florida, United StatesGreat cityscape image for HDR. I love the effect, excellent first effort. I have used Photomatix in the past, a free program. Basic but it works, although you have to clone out their logo. 25 Oct 2008 5:25pm Alejandro Caballero from Sant Boi de Llobregat, Barcelona, SpainMuchas gracias por tu visita, es una fotografia fantastica, te felicito por el tratamiento, saludos. 25 Oct 2008 9:01pm Siddhesh from Melbourne, AustraliaWow... I haven't tried HDR at all... Maybe lookinga t this pic I might give it a shot too... Nice one... 25 Oct 2008 9:57pm gbe from kansas city, United Statesjj, i don't know what hdr is, but i like this photo 25 Oct 2008 10:30pm Nina from Hamburg, GermanyWhat an impressive photo, JJ! Great perspective and colors, really well done! 25 Oct 2008 11:58pm Lynne's Somewhat Invented Life from United Statesthis is an amazing photo. I love the colors, all matching as if the architects got together and said, "Will this go with that? Does this make my rear entrance look fat? Do you like my hat?" 26 Oct 2008 2:52am Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesLooks very effective to me and in many ways, the softened facades are more pleasing than other HDRs. 26 Oct 2008 3:08pm Graham Russon from Cape Town, South AfricaThis is a great shot, like the subtlety of the HDR effect. 26 Oct 2008 6:47pm Anita from West Nottingham, United StatesGood job. The light is lovely. I haven't yet tried HDR. I like the frame you used. 26 Oct 2008 11:00pm Adetokunbo Adesanya from United StatesIt's good that you are trying new things. HDR is very good to get good detail in high contrasts, and I've seen other artists take it to dimensions that I wouldn't even bother to compete in. I'm not an expert on it, but it helps to have a Tripod to keep the camera still in low light situations or enough light to sustain really fast shutter speeds. Regards Ade 26 Oct 2008 11:57pm dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, CA, United Statesi love rooftop shots! beautifully done -- this takes me back to my magical days in NYC -- 5 years ago! :) also - - try using one singular shot -- and doing the bracketing w/ photoshop -- as opposed to using 3 separate shots. i have heard it is easier and have seen that it produces some astounding shots! but there is no complaint here -- i love this dreamy aspect! :) 27 Oct 2008 12:01am bram antareja from Yogyakarta, IndonesiaPerfect HDR, JJ // Amazing foto // Regards From Yogyakarta Indonesia // 27 Oct 2008 7:14am Susanne from Västerås, SwedenLovely and interesting and a really good job with the HDR. 28 Oct 2008 7:26pm |
