this was taken the night before the election, its at the Rockerfeller Centre in Manhattan

@Steve Rice: it was a great night to go there, they had blue and red lights on the building for the election day activities there the next day and night and it gave this wonderful colors

@Linerberry: it is recessed into the wall over an entrance to the building, the top portion with the greek figure is at an angle to the rest of the design which gives that effect

oh i really can't wait to get to New York - so many fantastic photo ops!! great subject matter and colours in this one JJ! i am also interested by the weird 2-D/3-D thing going on! great!

@Lorraine: I did some googling and I dont think its Zeus, but not sure if it is meant to depict any particular greek figure

@PD: there were a lot of people around taking photos there, we may never know we may have bumped into each other it was busy and a lot of bumping going on as people moved about

It is very impressive a Greek God in the city, it is necessary to admit that buildings in Manhattan are in the size of this mythology. I like the colors which ease the hardness of this god, as well as a very discreet "effect Orton" ;)

I still think of this as the RCA building when I allow myself to feel my age . . the words are from Isaiah, 33:6, and you've got a good representation of it here . . nice shot.
