a lighter shade of palePosted by JJ (Jersey City, United States) on 28 November 2008 in Landscape & Rural. Another shot from my morning quick stroll through Central Park Thanks for the critiques yesterday commenting on the saturation, I did over do it on that shot and have to learn to try and keep it real looking Thank you for taking the time to visit. I really appreciate all your comments, and welcome any critique as I am learning the art of photography, and having a blast with it Getting ready for a work trip from the 29th so may not be able to check all your posts but will do as and when I can

@Sidney: Thanks for comment, yes it does look a bit creepy with the B&W and vignette, sort of what I was aiming for lOL Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesThis is a great image. Love the bridge and the ducks. 28 Nov 2008 6:08am @Steve Rice: Thanks, Central Park is such a wonderful place, I love walking through there when I can, a pity work keeps me from going there as much as I would like Nicholas from Shah Alam, MalaysiaWould prefer if the photo crop off more of the bottom. Just slightly so that it starts from the grass on the right hand side of the photo. nice shot though and nice processing. I didn't think ystd's shot was overly saturated. The image is up to interpretation but doesn't mean all shots must reflect reality :) 28 Nov 2008 6:39am @Nicholas: Thanks for the comment and suggestion, I did try a crop similar to what you suggested but for me I preferred this crop Suzanne from Huntington Bch, United StatesI really like this in BW. It has a rdefinite vintage quality to it, enhanced by the vignetting in the corners. Well done. Also, IMO yesterday's image was brilliant...in color AND interpretation. 28 Nov 2008 6:58am @Suzanne: Thanks for your comment, seems thats the great thing about photography everyone has there own preferences so I guess there never ever any 100% right or wrong way to do something Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandWell this gets my vote of confidence!!! Lovely vintage image JJ. I can see what Nicholas means about croping but then I think you would lose some of the reflection and light at the foot of the image. Its great we all have diferent visions of images:-) Good one mate! 28 Nov 2008 7:46am @Linerberry: Thanks Liners, Appreciate you comment Elena Kotrotsou from Drossia, GreeceWow that's an ideal place to live! Great photo! 28 Nov 2008 9:33am @Elena Kotrotsou: I do love visiting Central Park, it always amazes me it can look in shots like your in the country but in reality your surrounding by Skyscrapers DaveB from Exeter, United KingdomMuch prefer this to the oversaturated version, cool processing! 28 Nov 2008 9:38am @DaveB: Thanks, I agree I prefer this one also @BoB: Thanks Bob Kathryn from Warburton, Australiabeautiful scene! i like it just the way it is! i really must go to this park one day! 28 Nov 2008 10:46am @Kathryn: Thanks :) I try to get to the Park at least once or twice helps me forget I Rui from Leiria, PortugalYES. This BW shot is much much better. I don't agree with Nicholas, about what photos must reflect. In my opinion it depends on what you want to show. If you're showing a nature photo, well it must be as close as possible to what you see (animals, landscapes, etc). Others there's no limit, but also depends on the purpose it is used. 28 Nov 2008 11:32am @Rui: Thanks Rui, thats the interesting thing I am seeing from comments on yesterday and todays post of mine, its clearly all in the eye of the beholder so many contrasting views Mary from United StatesWow !!I really love it in black and white....quite a romantic feel to it. This is excellant, JJ ? 28 Nov 2008 11:42am @Mary: Thanks Mary :) Nina from Hamburg, GermanyA beautiful and very romantic image... really good in b/w! 28 Nov 2008 11:49am @Nina: Thanks Nina :) Scene by Sharon Photography from Kingston, Ontario, CanadaI agree with Kathryn - like it just the way it is - I like the expanse of water, I feel it adds to the whole "feel" of the photo - nicely done 28 Nov 2008 11:51am @Scene by Sharon Photography: Thanks Sharon, :) dobbino from Cape Town, South AfricaJJ - without question an absolutely brilliant image - congratulations, this one I would frame! On the question of saturation, one has to be careful, but one also has to recognise that not all of us see the image as we do because of different screen types, etc. I also thought that yesterday's shot was a touch over-saturated, but then again, we don't see things in black and white either, but that doesn't detract from this wonderful shot. 28 Nov 2008 11:59am @dobbino: Thanks Dobbino, appreciate your thoughts on this :) Andrew Gould from Sydney, AustraliaVery attractive tones, JJ. What a great idea to do it in b&w. I don't think I would have seen that possibility for it, myself. 28 Nov 2008 12:04pm @Andrew Gould: Thanks for the visit and comment Andrew @Anita: Thanks Anita Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesA very interesting photo.
