Perfect division of sky and sea. The suspension bridge is the counterpoint to the beautiful image.

Wow, this is a wonderful composition and POV, JJ.
It's a tribute of sorts to the magnificent rescue yesterday of 155 people aboard the US Airways plane in the Hudson River on the other side of Manhattan.

Look at the layer of water. Looks so aesthetically consistent as if a blue plastic sheet put on the ground and someone is blowing it with giant fan from under it.

Ah, The East River. Back in the day you could always count on a body or two that time of morning. Really miss The Mob! (What makes me say things like that??? I guess growing up in The Apple left me with lasting memories.)

@MontereyJohn: Well I have heard such stories so I did have a good look at the water and can report not one body did I see floating down, a couple of soda cans I did unfortunately,
as for why there that early I am a morning person, even on weekends a sleep in for me is 6:30 AM

It's a great view, nice blue tones again. I looked at the smoothness of the water and had to check the exif knowing you usually handhold, had the tripod with you for this one then? Cos if you hand held this I'm packing up ;O)

I like this. It helps illustrate how incredible the city of NY is. These bridges were build a LONG time ago and changed the city in so many ways. They were icons then and remain so to this day.
They're always doing something amazing in NYC, whether building incredibly advanced bridges for the time or saving literally every passenger on a plane that crashes into the WATER. I've never heard of anything like that. It's a city that really has its shit together. If I could live there I would.
