@Zing: Thanks, one of my first real efforts of taking a long exposure standley from Carquefou, FranceA wonderful perspective on these bridges. I like the smooth waters and the blue hues! 16 Jan 2009 6:31am Nicholas from Shah Alam, MalaysiaNicely done! Love the blue tone across the shot. 16 Jan 2009 8:12am gelfoto from Madrid, SpainPerfect division of sky and sea. Looks so aesthetically consistent as if a blue plastic sheet put on the ground and someone is blowing it with giant fan from under it. 16 Jan 2009 2:10pm MontereyJohn from Salinas, California, United StatesAh, The East River. Back in the day you could always count on a body or two that time of morning. Really miss The Mob! (What makes me say things like that??? I guess growing up in The Apple left me with lasting memories.) Really nice image. What on earth are you doing at Pier 17 that time of day? Never mind, there I go again. :) 16 Jan 2009 3:40pm @MontereyJohn: Well I have heard such stories so I did have a good look at the water and can report not one body did I see floating down, a couple of soda cans I did unfortunately, Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesLove this one. The light and water are so fine. 16 Jan 2009 5:16pm zOOm from Paris, FranceI really how you capture the lights ! Nice liitle pink tones in the background... sooo lovely... Hope I'll go to NY one day ! 16 Jan 2009 5:33pm @zOOm: Growing up I never thought I would venture all the way to NY, but here I am so anything is possible :) baobab from Cambridge, United Statesnice light in this shot JJ. did you try cropping out some of the sky to alter the balance of the shot? 16 Jan 2009 6:00pm Marie-Hélène Ammor from Casablanca/Paris, MoroccoVery beautiful those blue and lights !! 16 Jan 2009 6:07pm Rui from Leiria, PortugalLove the blue tones and the small colored "dots". I looked at the smoothness of the water and had to check the exif knowing you usually handhold, had the tripod with you for this one then? Cos if you hand held this I'm packing up ;O) 16 Jan 2009 7:15pm @Craig: Yes this is the one time I carried my tripod with me, so no need to pack up LOL Liang from San Francisco, United Statesvery nice approach to the two bridges linking brooklyn and manhattan! 16 Jan 2009 7:30pm 613photo from DALLAS, United StatesI like this. It helps illustrate how incredible the city of NY is. These bridges were build a LONG time ago and changed the city in so many ways. They were icons then and remain so to this day. They're always doing something amazing in NYC, whether building incredibly advanced bridges for the time or saving literally every passenger on a plane that crashes into the WATER. I've never heard of anything like that. It's a city that really has its shit together. If I could live there I would. 16 Jan 2009 8:16pm Phototherapy from SwitzerlandI agree with 613!!! 16 Jan 2009 8:56pm AC from New York, United StatesBeautiful capture. You've got some amazing blues in this snap. Really like the time- you've got them captured just before it goes dark and the as lights come on. 16 Jan 2009 10:17pm Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomCaptivating, viewing this stretch of water. 17 Jan 2009 12:37am Fliss from Melbourne Beach, United StatesSuch an excellent shot...
